Understanding the Course Requirements

Understanding the Course Requirements Through Previous Student Work
Before I started the pre-production work for our project I looked at previous work from other students so I can understand the course requirements and what is needed to achieve the highest grade possible. I looked into detail and broke things down to make it easier. For each poster I rated it and looked at specific things such as the layout, colours, title and if it links in with the film itself.  Then i gave the overall rating of what I think and a comment of what was good and bad. This helped me to understand what I need to do for my project.

It is hard to understand what the film is about and it isn’t clear an recognizable to the human eye. The photo although has been edited very well and has worked with the background.

I thought this was a good poster which had some good effects to it and I’ve given it a 7 because it instantly tells you what the film is based on. It could make some improvements such as the text and the photo. The text looks like it’s been put anywhere on the poster and the photo doesn’t stand out as much.

The photo that has been placed goes well with the background but I don’t think the title font goes well with the poster. Think it has been used for the wrong type of genre. Also it shows straight away what this film will be about from the title and the text above saying ‘a true story based on Andre 3000’.

I don’t think anything in this poster goes well together. It looks very unprofessional and it just looks like it has been cut and pasted on a background. It doesn’t link in together and the font doesn’t fit either.

There’s not much wrong with this poster. The only thing wrong is the title because the font doesn’t fit but the photo and the background are outstanding.

This is good as it shows what the film is about, the title goes well and the person who is in grey also shows what the film is about. I’ve not given it a higher mark because it looks more of a magazine than a poster.

The magazine doesn’t fit in with the poster. The background has changed. It’s a bit immature when he made eyes where it said ‘first look’. One good thing that I like about the magazine though is the clips from the movie at the bottom

He has ruined the poster by completely changing the colour scheme on the magazine. It doesn’t go together and it doesn’t do a good job of selling the film

It is not clear and you can’t see much at the bottom or the title at the top. Once again it doesn’t meet the same expectations as the poster.

I quite like the font of the magazine but the colours have been changed which is wrong to do

The photo is good and goes well with the film but there are some mistakes such as the font title and the combination of colours. You can’t see the red text because it blends with the background and the title font is not the same as the title font of the actual film.

This one actually looks like the actual magazine but there is no relations with the film when you look at the font and the colours that have been used

I liked the effects that there were in this trailer and the music was perfect for it too. The music synched in well with the trailer and I liked how when there was a heartbeat, it moved on to the next shot

The trailer shown the main parts which will be in the film which is good because it catchers the viewer’s eyes more. But it ended too quickly and I didn’t like the font that was used

The music goes well with the trailer and I like the effects that were shown with it as well. But the audio when they are speaking isn’t at a high quality

I don’t think the music goes together with the trailer. The film is meant to be a serious type of film, yet it had a very upbeat song to it

The music goes well with it and I like how she uses the words to explai9n and describe what is going on. one bad thing about it is that the music changes for a bit when she is dancing, but it’s not the right music for the right movie
